Salvador Dali [catalogue of paintings from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Morse]. [Cleveland: 1954]. Presentation copy inscribed on the half-title and title in French by Dali to John Perona, written in pencil, undated, with a small marine landscape drawing also in graphite. Original spiral bound boards. 5 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches (14.5 x 11.5 cm); 64 pp., black and white illustrations. Boards lightly thumbsoiled, else fine.
The inscription (which includes the drawn elements noted) is to John Perona, proprietor of the legendary nightclub El Morocco, at which Dali was a frequent guest. It reads "Pour Jon/Perona/" [continued on opposite page] "Pour lui/rapeler/de venir nous/visiter a Port Lligat/avec mes veux pour le/nouvel an Dali."
