Comprises the appointment of Jonas Prescott as a Captain of a Company in the Regiment of Militia in the County of Middlesex, 24th January, 1715. 9 1/4 x 14 inches (23.5 x 36 cm); single-page printed document secretarially accomplished, wafer seal of the Province of Massachusetts Bay affixed at upper left; signed by William Tailer as acting Governor and Samuel Woodward as secretary. Usual folds, some toning and soiling, wear to edges; the appointment of Benjamin Prescott as Lieutenant of the Company of Foot whereof Jonas Prescott is Captain" 10th October, 1717. 13 x 16 3/8 inches (33 x 42 cm); single-page printed document secretarially accomplished, wafer seal of the Province of Massachusetts Bay affixed at upper left; signed by Samuel Shute as acting Governor and John Boydell as secretary.
