[BINDING-BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER]
The Book of Common Prayer, and administration of the sacraments: and other rites and ceremonies of the Church of England: with the psalter or psalmes of David
. Edinburgh: [s.n., probably Robert Young], 1634. [BOUND WITH] DOWNAME, JOHN. A briefe concordance, or table to the Bible of the last translation. Serving for the more easie finding out of the most usefull places therein contained... London : printed by the assignes of Cl. Cotton, 1633. [BOUND WITH] The vvhole book of Psalmes: collected into English meeter, by Thomas Sternhold, Iohn Hopkins, and others, conferred with the Hebrew, with apt notes to sing them withall... London: Printed by G. M[iller] for the Companie of Stationers, 1633. The three volumes bound as one, a charming period binding of brown morocco, central oval with seme surrounded by a delicate design of small gilt tools, both floral and leafy volutes, elaborate tooled spine, marbled endpapers (supplied when the binding was restored, probably 19th century). 6 5/8 x 4 /8 (17 x 11 cm); text ruled in red throughout, except for the first title (possibly supplied?). Binding neatly recased at an early date retaining the original spine, some rubbing and wear, generally internally clean, interesting seventeenth century marginalia on the front free endpaper.
