The issue binding of full brown cowhide, sides plain, spine with five raised bands, lettered in the top two compartments. 15 3/4 inches (40 cm), all edges plain. Title leaf, xxii, 501 pp., printed in the Press's Subiaco typeface with chapter headings and shoulder notes in red, and initials in red and pale blue. Illustrated with wood engravings by Charles Gere. Very minor wear to binding, some offset as usual from the leather doublures to the free endpapers.
