CHINESE EXPORT PAINTED ENAMEL ARMORIAL DISH
Circa 1730-1745
Diameter 12 1/4 inches (31cm)

Emblazoned with the arms of a Cardinal with his hat of office above. Flanking the arms are two large pheasants seated on rockwork and surrounded by famille rose sprays of flowers. On the wide, flat rim are four ruyi panels with a stylized flowerhead.

CONDITION:
Restoration to bottom of one ruyi lappet, four concentric semicircular stress cracks on edge, about 3 1/2 inches (9 cm)
