Machant, Esq./122 Bleeker Street/New York", with stamp from Washington D.C. dated May 16, with the complete but cracked House of Representatives wax seal to verso, 3 x 5 inches (8 x 13 cm), minor wear and stains, the text dark, the panels cleanly detached, accompanied by a copy only of the original 1844 letter.
A fine late franking signature from J.Q. Adams, the only president to return to Congress after his term.
