Japanese Suit of Armor
Late Edo Period
The helmet of russet iron, with vertical ridges and lacquered neck guard spaced with blue lacing, the breast and backplate of lacquered leather, the thigh guards of small sections of leather spaced with blue lacing mounted on blue and white cloth, the leg guards with chain mail over similar blue and white cloth, the forearm guards of iron plates connected by chain mail.
