Comprising: CAMERON, SIMON. Autograph note to war hero David McCreary, 1879, regarding his commission as Brigadier General "I hope you long live to enjoy this and many other honors; GREELEY, HORACE. Autograph letter signed, 1863, on Tribune stationery to Union General Meigs, seeking an honorable discharge for a captain who has lost his eye at Antietam, with a CDV portrait of Greeley; HAYES, ISAAC ISRAEL (also Arctic Explorer). Autograph note signed, n.d., seeking money from a Mr. Henry, minor offset from folding while wet; HAYNE, PAUL HAMILTON. Autograph letter with stanza, 1882, with quotation from A Summer Mood; FOOTE, A.H., Admiral. Autograph note signed, 1862, reporting an "avalanche of letters" and apologizing for the "appearance of my chirography"; CHASE, SALMON P. Brief note, 1872, reporting "Gen. Sherman will soon be at home & presumably will give you his autograph", toned; HOWARD, OLIVER OTIS.
