Finely bound in a padded full painted mustard cloth, the cover with the Kaiser's coat of arms in black, fold , red and blue surrounded by a black, gold, red and silver border, the rear cover with a painted crown motif, with both black and white watered silk endpapers, all edges gilt, housed in a cloth case. 10 x 6 1/2 inches (25 x 17 cm); with a fine calligraphic presentation to Franz Ferdinand by Carl Rene dated 1908 bound-in at front, the original wrapper with a portrait photograph bound-in, frontispiece, 71 pp. Some very minor soiling, the silk page marker detached and laid-in, a very fine and interesting presentation binding.
