A old handwritten label affixed to the back of the first panel reads: Lavatoio publico a Groscavallo/Valle di Lanzo/ Piemonte. A similar label on the back of the second panel reads: Calle (?) ristrette/Groscavallo, Valle di Lanzo, Piemonte.

Both paintings in good conditon; both recently conserved to a high professonal standard. Treatment report available for inspection.
Laundry Scene: Vertical line of restoration in the sky at upper center (2 inches above the roof; 1 inch below it ); 1-inch line of restoration near the upper edge; one spot of restoration on the wall at right. Scattered touches elsewhere.
Narrow Street: One-inch line of restoration near the upper edge; scattered touches elsewhere. Some lines and contours reinforced.
