Crushed green morocco spine and corners, green cloth boards, spines gilt lettered and ornamented, all edges gilt. 7 3/4 x 6 inches (19.5 x 15.25 cm); Vol I with iv pp. introduction, the rest of the contents unpaginated, with 5 additional engraved titles and 250 hand-colored engraved plates. Light wear to corners and edges, spines faded brown, contents trimmed close to text, with light toning, occasional spotting and offsetting, a text leaf with a Japanese paper repaired hole; Together withc[SCHOBERL, FREDERICK]. The Language of Flowers; with Illustrative Poetry: To Which is added, the Calendar of Flowers. Philadelphia: Lea and Blanchard, 1843. Sixth American edition. Decoratively blindstamped calf, rebacked with blindruled and gilt stamped calf spine, all edges gilt. 360 pp., frontispiece and five plates, all engraved and hand-colored. Rubbing and wear to calf over boards, gilding on edges mostly worn, contents with light toning, some spotting, and a dampstain along the top edge of part of the text.
