Newtown: Gregynog Press, 1935. One of 300 copies, of which this is one of 15 specially bound, this copy number 4. Full light green levant morocco, covers with a design of three vertical bands tooled in palladium, created by the combination of several small tools; signed on the bottom rear turn-in by George Fisher at the Gregynog Press Bindery. 11 inches (28 cm); binding 11 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches (29 x 22 cm), top edge palladium. 4 ff. including title, 141 pp., plus colophon leaf, with initials in three colors throughout, after Graily Hewitt's designs (Hewitt designed the typeface for the book, which was used only for this one Gregynog volume). Illustrated with 24 wood engravings cut after Edward Burne-Jones' pencil drawings at the Ruskin Drawing School at Oxford. Some offsetting from the turn-ins, two leaves with minor foxing. In the original Gregynog drop-back folding case.
An important addition to the Burne-Jones literature, prepared under the direction of Loyd Haberly. Harrop 33; Zilverdistel 33.
