First edition in monthly parts, 20 numbers in 19 parts, original pictorial wrappers, housed in folding card case. 8 7/8 x 5 1/2 (23 x 14.5 cm); 40 plates, one uncalled for ad in part 1, without printed slip in part 7 (noted in only 6 copies by Hatton & Cleaver), replaced rear wrapper to part 16 without called for points, first state of engraved title in part 19/20, the prelims unopened, the errata list 13 lines (earlier state). Rebacked with some backstrips renewed, repairs, some thumbsoiling, small stains and chips to edges, a few ownership signatures, the plates somewhat toned and foxed.
