PEDRO OF ARAGON
Document on vellum, signed with his mark
. Single sheet, 12 x 22 inches (30 x 56 cm), with wax seal attached to the document with thin ribbons, the document dated March 27, 1465. Slight folding creases, small separation at central fold, otherwise clean and sound, not examined out of frame.
Pedro, Constable of Portugal (a noted scholar and bibliophile) was the son of King John II. He reigned in Catalonia for three years. The document is countersigned by the scribe, Antonio Franca of Barcelona, and is written in a fine miniscule cursive.
