Full brown morocco gilt; the covers, elaborately stamped in gilt, bear the crowned Brunswick arms. Housed in a later cloth case. 12 3/4 x 10 inches (32.5 x 25.5 cm); 80 pp., with twelve fine lithographic plates of romantic scenes in Turkey, Greece, Africa etc. Light binding wear, scattered foxing throughout, in all a handsome copy.
A scarce work, probably presented by the publisher to William, Duke of Brunswick. The title-page has a small indistinct ink stamp, likely connoting ducal ownership. Authors include F. W. Lindner; Fr Steger; H. Wilke; Worosdar; and others.
