NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle is honored to auction property from The Manolovici Collection in a series of upcoming sales. This exceptional collection of art and antiques was lovingly curated over a 34-year marriage by Gerard and Nancy Graham Manolovici.
The Manolovici Collection comprises sophisticated furniture, decorations, paintings, Asian works of art and other objects from their elegant apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Highlighting the collection are three important George II chairs to be offered on January 25: a George II Burr Walnut and Walnut Armchair attributed to Giles Grendey, circa 1735 (lot 823), a George II Walnut Side Chair attributed to Giles Grendey, circa 1735 (lot 821) and a George II Mahogany Armchair after a design by William de la Cour, circa 1750 (lot 824). Also featured is an impressive George III Giltwood Pier Mirror in the manner of John Linnell, circa 1760 (lot 819).
