This chest of drawers and its mate, lot 226, are exemplary examples of Nakashima's ability to create a functional piece of furniture that superbly features the natural beauty of the wood.

With light marks and scratches as expected from normal use; at least two water rings to top; small 3/8 in. "F" in top - presumably as made; one end panel with 2 small tight splits from the bottom, one screw cover lacking, several drip stains descending from the top, scuffing to the top edge; the other end panel with long horizontal scratch from end to end approximately 1/4 down from the top; with name of original owner Karlen to reverse corner
