Early Japanese Picture Post Card Collection
Superlative collection of some 730 post cards Used or Unused issued Meiji 40-45 (1907-1912) presented in four period albums, each inscribed with title of the contents being Northern Kyushi, Korea and Manchuria, Envisions of Kyoto, China/Taiwan. The Cards illustrated are multicolored or black and white with numerous topics including Royalty, some with stamps cancelled by commemorative Cancels, Scenes, Military, Animals, Art works, and more, there has been some deterioration to the paper due to its rag content and some possible moisture effect, fortunately the Cards for the most part have not been affected and are generally Fine to Very Fine. A wonderful study and history of the region and period.
