Issued to commemorate the event which took place after the Last Supper, wherein Christ washed the feet of his twelve disciples, the Monarch washed the feet of as many years as he was old, then distributed clothes and special Maundy coins, which were first minted under Charles II. this grouping offers a complete run of the coins issued during the reigns of Charles II through Queen Elizabeth II to 1964, comprising charles II 3 sets (hammered, milled, laureate bust), James II 1 set, William and Mary 1 set, William III 1 set, Anne 1 set, George I 1 set, George II 1 set, George III 4 sets (young head, mature bust, old bust, laureate head), George IV 1 set, William IV 1 set, Victoria 3 sets (young head, Jubilee bust, veiled bust), Edward VII 1 set, George V 2 sets (early bust, late bust), George VI 2 sets (1938 and 1949) and Queen Elizabeth 2 sets (1953 and 1964), the coins vary from Fine circulated to Choice Uncirculated, a wonderful presentation of these issues mounted in Lucite frame annotated with details of the Sovereign and the relative issues.
