[Boston]: privately printed by Geo. H. Ellis Co., 1929. First edition, with a 1-page typed letter dated 1929 from the author to Edwin S. Webster, and a 2-page typed signed letter on The Swan Island Club letterhead dated 1976, both laid in. Original straight-grain leatherette, gilt title to upper board. 10 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches (26 x 17.5 cm); iv, 36 pp., frontispiece after a photograph, two folding maps. Leatherette worn and rubbed, cracked along spine and coming loose, endpapers lightly toned, minor creasing along margins of folding maps.

A rare Swan Island Club book that recounts the legal battle with the state of North Carolina over the ownership of certain underwater shoals adjacent to the Club's lands, ideal places for duck blinds. B. W. Palmer, a prominent Boston attorney and noted sportsman, also wrote a sought-after book for The Moisie Salmon Club. No copies of this book have appeared at auction (per RareBookHub), and there is only one institutional copy listed on Worldcat (at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill).
