Well-respected bow-maker, violinist and jeweler Henryk Kaston produced jewelry works inspired by his musical career and passions. A friend of Salvador Dali, he produced many iconic works with their partnership, often to commemorate operatic openings. This pair of earrings and pendant were designedfor the opening of the current Metropolitan Opera House, opening to the public on September 16, 1966. These pieces mark the move from the 'Old Met' on Broadway and 39th Street, New York City, which had originally opened in 1883.
