BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- Born in Santo Domingo, Jorge Noceda Sánchez (1925-1987) was one of the Dominican Republic’s most important twentieth-century painters. Trained initially as a physician, he ultimately abandoned a medical career to devote himself fully to art, developing a highly personal style informed by Surrealism. His imaginative compositions, populated by floating forms, symbolic figures, flowers, birds, and fantastical architectural elements, blur the boundaries between reality and dream. Exhibited internationally throughout his career, Noceda’s richly colored paintings remain celebrated for their originality, dreamlike vision, and enduring imaginative power.
Join us for a special Beverly Hills preview exhibition of five works by Jorge Noceda Sánchez from a Private West Coast Collection to be auctioned in New York this Fall.
