NEW YORK, NY -- Join thousands of New Yorkers as Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 105th Streets is closed to traffic and turned into the city’s biggest block party! New York’s most distinguished museums along the Fifth Avenue will open their doors at no charge for the Museum Mile Festival 2026 on Tuesday, June 9 from 6pm – 9pm.
Begun as an initiative to spur the development of new museum audiences and to increase support for the arts, Museum Mile was formed as a consortium by the museums that share the Fifth Avenue address. Since its debut in 1978, the festival has grown from a celebrated New York tradition into an event with global reach, drawing visitors from across the country and around the world to experience one of the city’s richest concentrations of art and culture.
