NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle is honored to auction property from the Estate of Laura Montalban. The daughter of actor Ricardo Montalban and actress Georgiana Belzer, Laura was born in Los Angeles and educated at Beverly Hills Catholic School (now Good Shepherd Catholic School) and UCLA, and at The New School in New York. Her uncle was actor Carlos Montalban, her aunts were actresses Loretta Young, Sally Blane and Polly Ann Young, and her maternal grandmother, Gladys Royal Belzer, was an interior designer whose clients included a number of Hollywood stars. Laura began her career in New York as a model at the fashion house of Bill Blass, where she remained for 32 years, eventually becoming Design Director for the Blass Sport division. When Bill Blass sold his company, she worked briefly for Oscar de la Renta when he was designing Pierre Balmain couture. In her fifties, she made a career change into interior design, working first at Jeffrey Bilhuber before moving to the decorating firm Dorothy Draper & Co. Later, she established her own design company, LMID.
