Jon King has over 45 years’ experience in the appraisal and auction world. Over his career, he has orchestrated the landmark sales of the estates of Lauren Bacall, Lucy Smith Battson, Truman Capote, Barbara Danielson, Aimee de Heeren, Francois Hermann, Liberace, Merle Oberon, Herbert Ross and Michael Taylor, in addition to the collections of Warner Bros, Universal Studios, Western Costume, Inc., The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Stanford University and Harvard University. Prior to joining Doyle, Mr. King worked at Sotheby’s in New York and Los Angeles, Butterfield & Butterfield in San Francisco, and Bonhams in New York, before establishing his own firm, Jon King Art Advisory.
Mr. King has served on Advisory Boards for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the Los Angeles Antiques Show and California State University Interior Design Graduate Program. He has been a featured appraiser on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow and the Home & Garden Television series Appraise It!
