New York is a global capital of the design industry. It is home to a host of prominent interior designers whose projects across residential, commercial and public spaces influence design trends around the world. New York is also home to a wide range of design resources whose quality products and expert services are used by designers to realize their visions.
In our inaugural Tools of the Trade lecture series co-hosted with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New York Properties, we are honored to present some of New York’s most distinguished design resources – each firm a legend and trendsetter in its respective field.
P.E. GUERIN / Wednesday, February 13 at 6:30pm
P.E. Guerin is the oldest decorative hardware firm in the United States, and the only metal foundry in Manhattan. Established by French immigrant Pierre Emmanuel Guerin in 1857, it is now owned and directed by the fourth generation of the family, Pierre Emmanuel's great grandnephew, Andrew F. Ward. The firm continues to produce quality hardware and architectural fixtures from its location on Jane Street, its home since 1892. Visit PEGuerin.com
In his slide presentation, Vice President Martin Grubman will trace P.E. Guerin's rich and fascinating history. He will survey the types and styles of decorative hardware and discuss the traditional sand-casting method that is still used in their New York City foundry. Discover for yourself this tool of the trade used by leading designers and architects in New York and across the country.
