NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a highlight successful auction celebrating Warhol’s New York on April 26, 2022. This exciting auction offered original prints, books, memorabilia and ephemera by Andy Warhol and the New York scene. Warhol's New York was offered as a special section of the auction of Prints & Multiples.
With competitive international bidding, the sale totaled a successful $1,773,737, surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $916,250-1,371,000, with an impressive 92% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
Highlights included Warhol’s iconic color screenprint Marilyn from 1967. Books offer signed copies of Andy Warhol’s Index Book, Exposures and The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again). Signed ephemera featured an Interview cover signed by Warhol and Truman Capote and the invitation to Holly Woodlawn’s 40th birthday party.
