Macedon. Macedonian Kingdom - In the Name and Types of Alexander III (The Great), 336-323 BC (Post-humous issue). AV Stater (8.42g), Babylon(?) mint, ca. 317-311 BC, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalamos or Seleukos I.

Obverse: Head of Athena facing right, wearing Corinthian-style helmet with plume, decorated with a coiled serpent. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding stylis in left hand, right hand outstretched; at foot on left, satyr head; on right, monogram within wreath. Extremely fine, flan flaw on obverse; an attractive example.
