Russian Parcel-Gilt Silver, Niello and Champlevé Enamel Cup and Stand

The cup tapering cylindrical with a flared rim, on a domed circular foot, one side centering an oval reserve nielloed with a view of St. Basil's Cathedral, the other side with a view of the Spasskaya Tower, bordered by panels of scrolling foliage, on varicolored grounds, all beneath a rim inscribed with Russian drinking saying on a turquoise enamel ground, the circular stand with varicolored enamel scrolling foliage and geometric motifs. Height 6 1/4 inches (16 cm), diameter of stand 6 3/8 inches (16.2 cm).
