Circa 1757, brown anchor mark
Boldly painted with a large yellow and puce papaya paw fruit and foliage, the molded edge picked out in puce and feathered in turquoise. Diameter 8 1/2 inches (21.6cm).

Compare the painted subject on the Rachel 'Bunny' Mellon, Chelsea botanical plate at the Museum Fine Arts Boston, object no. 2014.1880. Both are variations based on a plate in Georg Dionysius Ehret, Plantae et Papiliones Rariores, pl. III.
