Sèvres Porcelain Bleu Céleste Ground Oval Dish (Compotier Ovale)
Mid-18th century, blue interlaced L's mark, painter's HP mark for Prévost, l'aîné and gilder's # mark for Chauveaux, l'aîné, potter's incised 22
Finely painted with four bouquets each within a ribbon-tied gilt ciselé floral surround, conjoin by a foliate garland. Width 10 3/4 inches (27.3 cm).

With The Antique Porcelain Company, Inc., New York, (label).
Jean Jacques Prévost, l'aîné and Guillaume Prévost, le jeune, used the same mark and are recorded as painters at Sèvres active 1754-1758 and 1756-1760, respectively.
Michel Barnabé Chauveaux, l'aîné, was recorded as a gilder at Sèvres active 1752-1774.
