NEW YORK, NY -- The year's final sale of Rare Books, Autographs & Maps on December 16, 2002 offers many gift-ready items for the upcoming holiday season! Collectible first editions of literary classics such as John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and Mark Twain's elusive first book The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County will be offered alongside children's classics such as A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard's Winnie-the-Pooh and and inscribed set of Maurice Sendak's Nutshell Library.

Autographs will include a very fine large format pair of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip coronation photographs, the signed Author's Autograph Edition of Charles Lindbergh's "We", and a further selection of signed items from the Harold Arlen Archives, including inscriptions from Irving Berlin. Horror fans will delight at a collection of Stephen King, including an inscribed copy of Christine and rare proofs. A group of rare early New York survey maps will be offered as will early editions of Montesquieu, Cervantes, and fine bindings and antiquarian books from the Collection of Alistair Bradley Martin. Finally, a holiday classic remains the Savoy Cocktail Book, keeping parties going for nearly 100 years!
