Beaton took home the Tony Award in 1957 for Best Costume Design for the classic Lerner & Lowe Broadway production. Lerner & Lowe would continue to work with Beaton on the film adaptation of My Fair Lady as well as their 1958 film Gigi, and would go on to win Academy Awards for Best Costume Design for both.

Sheet is hinged to the mat at upper left and upper right. Slightly toned, with mat burn. A surface loss at upper center edge, obscured by mat. A heavy crease at upper left. Surface grime (possibly glue remnants) at upper center and upper left. Light denting to sheet at lower left edge, obscured by mat.
