The 1969 Andre Previn and Alan Jay Lerner musical Coco, based on the life of designer Coco Chanel starred Katharine Hepburn in the titular role, and was the only stage musical of her career. Cecil Beaton was the costume designer for this Broadway production, which ran for 329 performances.
