NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a highly successful auction of Important Jewelry December 16, 2021 showcasing luxurious jewelry by the world’s most prestigious makers, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, David Webb and Tiffany & Co. Featured were dazzling rings, necklaces, brooches and bracelets set with diamonds, colored stones, jade and natural pearls, as well as fine watches by Rolex and Patek Philippe. Highlighting the sale was jewelry from two remarkable collections: The Estate of Alexandra Krofta Jones (Read More) and the Estate of June Marston Dyson (Read More).
With competitive international bidding, the sale totaled an exceptional $5,523,666, far surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $2,805,100-4,048,600, with a strong 93% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
The top lot of the sale was an exquisite Belle Epoque diamond feather brooch by Cartier Paris that soared past its estimate of $60,000-80,000 to realize a staggering $289,800. The circa 1910 brooch was the highlight of the extensive collection of jewelry from the Estate of Alexandra Krofta Jones.
