Mintons Majolica Turquoise Ground Lobster Tureen and Cover
Date cypher for 1873
Impressed uppercase mark, S and shape no. 1523, designed by Matilda Charsley
The shallow domed cover naturalistically molded with a large lobster resting among shells and seaweed on a rockwork ground, the conforming oval bowl flanked by shell-molded handles. Width overall 14 inches.
