Old brown calf, apparently laid over the original binding. 8 1/4 x 5 inches (13 x 21 cm); viii, 335 pp. Binding worn, stain to lower margin of title, foxing and toning throughout, small paper flaw on A4 affecting a few letters of text, lacking front free endpaper. Book label of William Safire; Together with FORSYTH, WILLIAM. A Treatise on the Culture and Management of Fruit Trees... to Which is Added, an Introduction and Notes, Adapting the Rules of the Treatise to the Climates and Seasons of the United States of America, by William Cobbett. Albany, New York: D. & S. Whiting, 1803. Tree sheep of the period. 8 1/4 x 5 inches (21 x 12.5 cm); 280 pp., with 13 folding plates. Moderate binding wear, blank edges of a couple of plates creased where they extend beyond the text block, minor toning.
