London: Thornton Butterworth, 1930. First edition, first issue with eleven titles on the verso of the half-title. Publisher's red cloth, neatly recased and rebacked in red morocco, the endpapers renewed. 8 5/8 x 5 5/8 (22 x 13.5 cm); 392 pp., plates. Some wear to the original covers, the text a trifle foxed, worst at first and last leaves.
A total of 5750 copies were published of this first impression, with three later impressions (so indicated) in the year of publication. Offered with a copy of The Aftermath, first American edition, 1929.
