. New York: [1965]. First trade edition signed by Capote on the front blank, stated first printing (and with a penciled note stating this an advance copy for booksellers). Publisher's cloth, in the original first issue dust jacket with 1/66 code on front flap and "Publishers of the American College Dictionary and the Modern Library" on rear flap. The jacket price clipped but otherwise a very fine copy.
Capote's chilling non-fiction work of "multiple murder and its consequences," now a classic of the genre, here signed.
