NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Fine Jewelry on June 23, 2021 saw determined bidding sending prices far surpassing their estimates. Hundreds of bidders around the globe vied for wide array of stylish creations by such makers as Sabbadini, Cartier, Temple St. Claire and Hermès, as well as fine watches and a selection of luxury handbags.
Amid international competitive bidding, the sale totaled an exceptional $824,229, far over the pre-sale estimate of $434,800-642,200, with an impressive 92% sold by lot and 97% by value.
The top lot of the day was a five-strand cultured pearl necklace with an antique diamond clasp from the Estate of an Italian Philanthropic Family. The elegant necklace attracted intense bidding lasting several minutes that sent the bidding soaring over its 1,000-1,500 to achieve a stunning $75,600.
