NEW YORK, NY -- Jewelry sales at Doyle continue to outperform expectations at Doyle! The Fine Jewelry sale on March 3, 2021 totaled a successful $740,345, far exceeding the pre-sale estimate of $382,250-532,300 with a strong 92% sold by lot and 95% sold by value.

This popular sale showcased a wide range of stylish jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, David Webb and Tiffany & Co., as well as fine watches for ladies and gentlemen by Rolex and Cartier. Featured in the auction was jewelry from the Estate of Mildred C. Brinn and the Estate of Catherine Ann Moore Cavanaugh. Additional jewelry from these estates will be offered on March 25 with Important Jewelry..

The  Estate of Mildred Cunningham Brinn

Mildred Cunningham Brinn was a role model and counselor to many people and cultural institutions, including American Ballet Theatre (Trustee for over 40 years and long-time Vice Chair) and the Skowhegan School of Art (Trustee from 1977 to 2020 and Chair Emerita). She was a Life Trustee and Chair Emeritus of The Parrish Art Museum and served many years as a Board Member of The Southampton Fresh Air Home and Southampton Hospital, and the Metropolitan Club in New York. The Estate of Catherine Ann Moore Cavanaugh

A longtime resident of Morristown, New Jersey, Catherine Ann Moore Cavanaugh was the author of four books focusing on the history of Morristown and its environs. Mrs. Cavanaugh was an honorary trustee of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation and the Trustees of the Morristown Green and a former trustee of the Washington Association of New Jersey. She served on the boards of Historic Speedwell, Macculloch Hall Museum and the New Jersey Chapter of the National Society of Arts and Letters. (View Lots)
