London: printed for J. Almon, 1780. Stated second edition. Modern three quarters brown morocco over marbled boards. 8 1/2 x 5 inches (21.5 x 13 cm); 191, i-cix pp., with the engraved large folding map at front and 5 folding engraved battle-plans (two with overslips), all by William Faden and partially hand-colored, one folding chart in the text. An old dampstain affects the first part of the text and map, other spotting and stray stains, the large map with a short tear at mount, two of the plans with small repairs on the versos.

Burgoyne's account of his campaign ending in the defeat at Saratoga in 1777, with a fine map and plans by William Faden dated 1780. Howes B-968; Sabin 9255; Lande 69 (second edition); Nebenzahl, A Bibliography of the Battle Plans of the American Revolution 48, 51, 52, 53, 56, 57.
