KENNEDY, JACQUELINE Framed display with letter to Evelyn Lincoln regarding international magazine subscriptions.
Washington: circa 1 January 1959. One page manuscript letter on recto and verso of one sheet of Mrs. John F. Kennedy/3307 N. Street, N.W./Washington, D.C. stationery. The letter 9 lines in blue ink instructing Ms. Lincoln on where to order the magazines from in New York and the verso listing the different publications. Presented in a fine large framed display with the original mailing envelope in Mrs. Kennedys hand, a portrait, a copy of the verso of the letter, and three insets regarding the auction in which they were purchased. The visible area of the letter 7 x 6 /1 inches (18 x 15 cm); the overall framed display 25 x 34 inches (63 x 85 cm). The signature clipped from the verso of the letter, folds and a paperclip rust mark, unexamined out of frame.

Here Mrs. Kennedy orders magazines for 1960, the year spent traversing the country on the campaign trail. Mrs. Kennedy instructs Evelyn Lincoln to order from Gordon's Magazines on 59th Street in Manhattan three English periodicals and the French fashion and art magazines Connaissance des Arts; Paris Match; Realities; Figaro Litteraire; and Maison et Jardin.
