Nicely rebound in modern three quarters red morocco over marbled boards, with spine with raised bands and a black lettering label. 10 1/4 x 8 inches (26 x 20 cm); viii, 106, [1 errata/ad]; Bound with BURNABY, ANDREW. Journal of a Tour to Corsica in 1766. London: Hansard, 1804. First edition. 172, 1 pp. Spotting and a small ink stain to the title of first work and other lighter spotting throughout, the second work clean.

First edition of Burnaby's important account of the colonies in the years before the Revolution and published on the eve of the conflict. The narrative includes an account of meeting Washington at Mount Vernon: "I cannot omit this opportunity of bearing testimony to the gallant and public spirit of this gentleman..." Howes B995; Sabin 9359 (erroneously calling for maps).
