[COSTUME] [MANSION, LOUIS and others]. 52 mounted hand-colored plates of costume mounted in an album
. Of these, approximately half of these are highly finished hand-colored plates of female national costume lithographed after Louis Mansion; two very fine plates pertaining to the Greek War of Independence, including one after Ary Scheffer's Jeune Grec défendant son père; and some well-rendered plates of historical costume, male and female. Old straight-grained green morocco, 14 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches (37 x 27 cm); the plates mounted to thin brown stock, most 10 x 8 inches. Some wear to binding, front joint starting, one mount torn (but the plate sound).
An unusually attractive series of plates of national costume comprise the first half of this work.
