Scarlet straight-grain morocco (unsigned, but of excellent quality), covers with a central diapered design in gilt and blind, spines gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. 8 7/8 x 6 1/4 inches (22.5 x 15.5 cm); the first work half-title, title, xvi, map, 209, [1], [2] pp, errata; half-title, title, viii, map, 258, [2] pp errata; with 2 aquatint additional titles and 52 aquatint plates, all delicately hand-colored; the second work map, title, viii, [2], [vii]-xii pp., 206 pp., with aquatint additional title and 28 aquatint plates, all delicately hand-colored; [ii]-xviii, map, 284 pp, [2] pp, errata and aquatint additional title, map, 2 ports and 29 aquatint plates, all delicately hand-colored. Some minor rubbing to extremities, but in all a very attractive set, with minimal foxing and toning (a little more pronounced in the Medway volume).
Abbey Scenery 430 (Thames) and 427 (Avon) and Medway (428). The attractive binding appears to be circa 1910-1920.
