Longton Hall Porcelain Cauliflower-Form Tureen and Cover
Circa 1756, unmarked
Naturalistically modeled upright, the cover molded as the flower with a sprouting floret finial, the interior painted with flower sprigs and leaves, the bowl formed as thickly ribbed white stems with shaded yellow and green edges.
Height overall 5 inches, diameter of bowl 5 3/4 inches.

In Simon Spero's Exhibition Catalog 1990, no. 16, he states that the model perhaps corresponds with the "Colliflowers" mentioned in the advertisement for "A new and curious Porcelain or China of the Longton-Hall Manufactory." offered for sale from 12th to 25th April 1757.
