[England: Stanwill Press, 1976]. First edition, a specially bound presentation copy numbered 24/33 and signed in ink by Almeida on the front blank. Flexible black morocco stamped with a jaguar head to the cover, the spine gilt lettered, original color printed cover bound in. 5 1/3 x 7 3/4 inches; 194 pp., photographically illustrated, imprint to verso of foreword, apparently issued without a title leaf. Minor pull to headcap, very fine overall, hunting bookplate of F.P. Williamson.
Scarce first issue of Ameida's book on hunting jaguar, published after the author was challenged to swim across the piranha-filled Paraguay River by Dimitri Papqlios, an event recorded in the foreword.
