Spines darkened, some wear, slight speckling to cloth. Internally, a bit shaken, some leaves a little roughly opened, some foxing to plates, in all a good copy.
An important account of the region, and the first public airing (see the preface) of Burton's quarrel with Speke, with whom he had undertaken the journey.
