Stalking the elusive Bukhara wild sheep (Ovis ammon severtzovi), he bagged several specimens. He continued into the Hissar Mountains, noting the terrain and wildlife of the region, then into the Pamirs where he collected Ovis poli and ibex, and participated in a pheasant hunt. An extensive and useful bibliography is provided" (Czech). Czech, Asia, p. 44.
